Constructed Wetlands (CWetlands)
CWetlands Simulation is an online game that immerses players in the challenges faced by a local community in managing urban wastewater. The game focuses on the complexities associated with dispersed housing and other facilities that are difficult and costly to centralize. Players must engage in negotiations, discussions, and decision-making processes regarding various projects. These projects involve financial, legal, technical, social, and environmental considerations for different wastewater management models, both centralized and decentralized. The simulation also explores diverse technical solutions, including constructed wetlands and other nature-based solutions (NBS) compared to traditional “grey” infrastructure.
8 unique roles to choose:
5 projects to invest:
Conventional wastewater treatment plant and maintenance
strategy for the existing wastewater treatment infrastructure
Municipal constructed wetlands connected with sewage system
Subsidies to small decentralized constructed wetlands in urban areas
Subsidies for small home constructed wetlands with septic tanks for homeowners
Municipal constructed wetlands connected with sewage system
6 indicators to watch:
…and countless pieces of narratives to immerse you in the story
